An educator with more than 20 years of experience in English as Second Language/ LINC in non-profit, college, university, and online settings. Experienced with standardized testing, curriculum and assessment development and editing, and portfolio-based language assessment.
Utilizing trauma-informed principles, specialized in helping learners to build their language and academic skills, as well as their confidence, for employment or post-secondary studies with a strengths-based approach. Having supplemented my teaching skills with an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Mental Health & Disability Management, I am looking for opportunities to provide greater support to newcomers and refugees that addresses all aspects of their lives both inside and outside of the classroom.
Research Interests: Reflective Practice, Mental Health & Wellness, Resilience, and Trauma-informed Practice.
